Keeper Security is a secure way of managing your private and secret information (typically passwords). Apart from functional benefits, it is controlled centrally which fulfills compliance requirements.
You will receive an invitation from your own Keeper Security instance. Allow aproximately 30-minutes to setup your account and to install the software on your computer, browsers, and mobile devices.
We always suggest, you complete setup procedures using a computer (laptop) and not a mobile or tablet. Setup your account by creating a master password and adding 2FA (two factor authentication). Test the system by adding one record (password) in your “vault”.
You can access all your stored records using a browser here: https://keepersecurity.com/vault/
Next, we suggest you setup the desktop application and at least one browser extension to assist adding, using and managing passwords. Do this using your computer (laptop).
Find all these downloads here: https://www.keepersecurity.com/download.html
Provided you have sufficient permission, you should now download the mobile and tablet applications. The application can be found in the Playstore or Appstore on your device. Login using the master password and 2FA you setup earlier.
Keeper Security has a lot of helpful videos and guides located to assist setting up and using Keeper Security software on all your devices.

When installing Keeper Security for your company and you intend to share passwords, you secret records are best organised into “Shared Folders”. You can then share the Shared Folder and its contents with individuals, or user groups. Private folders can be used when users want to store personal secrets. You will need to move the record out of this folder to share.
Specific information about sharing: https://docs.keeper.io/user-guides/sharing
When planning your folder structure, we suggest you consider the departments, users and teams that may require access to shared records. We also suggest you keep to one level of Shared Folders to avoid sharing conflicts and confusion.
To begin, we suggest you create:
- One Shared Folder for company-wide passwords that are used by mutiple users in the company. Then share this folder with the applicable teams.
- One Shared Folder for your company records that will not initially be shared with other users. This folder may be shared to IT adminstrator teams only.
- One Private Folder for all you personal records.
We have set up your organisation wide policies. Please review the default and contractor roles on the following pages (to follow soon). The specify everything from minimum password lengths to how password can be shared. You are welcome to request changes to these settings.
You can request additional roles for greater customisation. Some organisations request a directors’, managers’ or a contractors’ role with unique features and permission. You may want to schedule a scoping session to review your setting and arrange new roles.
We recommend (1) users have the software installed and are operational within 14-days, (2) user have added all historical passwords within 30-days and (3) all duplicate records are destroyed or securely archived within 90 days. Talk to us about specific recommendations for your organisation.
