WordPress websites can be copied for safe storage, migration, staging or relaunch. There are two parts to the WordPress backup. The first is the database and the second is the code and content. You will be able to view the files in your (Windows) desktop computer and you can locate the images. However, you can only launch the website on a properly configured website server.
We are committed that clients can operate independently and remain in full control of their digital assets. While we do not provide direct access to the server or FTP access, hosting clients can request a copy of their website(s). In addition, we can setup a plugin for their WordPress website which will delivery a regular backup to common cloud storage solution (Dropbox, Drive, One Drive and AWS). The cost of this software is included in our top tier WordPress hosting platform but the configuration will attract a setup charge based on complexity. Submit any request or inquiry to our support team su*****@we******.au.
We recommend that clients store a physical copy of their WordPress website at their premises at least once per quarter. This may help in case of an emergency.
Website can only be re-launched on a server with the same software versions. Time will eventually render a backup unusable.
